Summary Update on Cal/OSHA PEL process and other major health standard proposals:
Cal/OSHA is one of the few state OSHA programs that actively develops new health standards that are at more protective than Federal OSHA standards. The presentation Steve Smith will give an update on what new and revised health standards Cal/OSHA is currently being developing. Topics to be covered include: the process to develop new and revised Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL), highlights of the new Aerosol transmissible disease proposal, a new Diacetyl proposal, and a proposed reduction of the assigned protection factor for disposable respirators.
