What AIHA Members Say About Membership

By Gouhar Nayeem, Membership Marketing Specialist

According to member surveys, more than four in five current members, or 85 percent, report that they are satisfied or extremely satisfied with AIHA membership. We asked several members at each level between student and emeritus about their thoughts on AIHA membership and why they think it’s important to renew it in 2022.

Maximizing Potential through Organizational Membership

Managers are always looking for the best way to maximize employee productivity. They wisely allocate part of the company budget for professional development courses, training, conferences, and continuing education, because employees are the company’s greatest asset. Smart managers know that investing in employees increases their productivity and ensures that they are up to date with current information and standards. That’s why AIHA’s organizational membership is an investment worth considering.

A Surprise from AIHA’s Government Relations Survey

SynergistNOW blog by Mark Ames, Director of Government Relations
Early this fall, AIHA asked members to fill out a short survey to help us better understand the types of public policy issues they care about and the government relations actions they wish for AIHA to pursue. Now, the results are in, and they contained a surprise.

Nearly half of members chose the options for indoor environmental quality, COVID-19 and pandemics, and increased OEHS visibility in government. However—not in keeping with AIHA’s expected results but appreciated nonetheless—42 percent of respondents indicated they were interested in hearing loss prevention.

Join AIHA’s Government Relations Committee and Make a Difference!

Interested in learning about the resources you need to take action with local, state, and federal government representatives on the worker health and safety issues you care about the most? Your voice and expertise are needed. Government relations are fast-paced, exciting, and vital to our society. We truly depend upon you to realize our common goals. Together, we can achieve amazing things. If you'd like to join the Government Relations Committee or receive additional information on it, please contact Mark Ames, AIHA’s Director of Government Relations.
