AIHA Celebrates Volunteers during National Volunteer Week

This week, April 6–12, marks National Volunteer Week. In honor of the occasion, AIHA® is pleased to announce the winners of the AIHA Volunteer Awards for 2014. These outstanding volunteer groups and individuals were nominated by their peers and members of the AIHA Board of Directors determined the winners. The volunteer awards will be presented at AIHce 2014 + Stewardship in San Antonio, Texas.

Three Shining Star Awards, which recognize AIHA volunteer groups that demonstrate exemplary commitment to service, innovation, and collaboration, were awarded to:

The Soaring Star Award, which recognizes a volunteer group that shows a sustained commitment to excellence, was awarded to the International Affairs Committee for its support of resources and projects with global reach and impact.

The Rising Star Award recognizes a volunteer group that shows growth and innovation. This year’s Rising Star Award winner is the Oil and Gas Working Group, which has made significant contributions to the body of knowledge used by IH practitioners in the oil and gas industry during its three-year existence.

Three volunteers were recognized as Outstanding Individual Contributors for their impact on their volunteer groups, AIHA, and the profession:
