AIHA PAT Programs Poster Recognized at Berlin Workshop

Posted October 29, 2014

Staff representing the AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing Programs (AIHA PAT Programs) recently presented at the 8th Workshop on Proficiency Testing in Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Laboratory Medicine, which took place Oct. 7–9, in Berlin, Germany. The workshop was attended by 268 participants representing 64 countries. The AIHA PAT Programs’ poster on the analysis of their process improvements in developing silica PT samples was awarded a first-, second-, and third-place individual ribbon, as well as third-place poster overall out of more than 70 posters at the meeting.

“We are very excited about this recognition, especially as it was our first presence at this workshop,” said AIHA PAT Programs Manager Angela Oler, ASQ CQA. “Most attendees at the workshop from outside the U.S. were unaware of the existence of the AIHA PAT Programs. We also gained valuable perspective on proficiency testing programs in the European Union and around the world.”

EURACHEM, in cooperation with CITAC and EQALM, invited members of the international analytical community to the workshop, which was organized by an internationally respected scientific committee and local organizing committee. Four days were devoted to training courses, lectures, short communications, poster sessions, and working group discussions. The technical sessions included invited lectures, selected short communications, and poster presentations. For more information, visit the workshop website.
