Posted November 20, 2015

Two new scholarships and a memorial grant have been established under the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF).

Philip R. Morey Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Philip R. Morey was one of the founders of the field of indoor air quality (IAQ), and he was recognized as a leader in the microbiological area of expertise. His work was always well researched and meticulous, and he took part freely and capably in numerous collaborative projects with his colleagues. It can be said that Dr. Morey rose above the crowd by his eloquence in speaking, his extensive knowledge on the subject at hand, and his remarkable means of conveying his point with a characteristic poignancy, always respectful of his peers.

The Real-Time Detection Systems Scholarship was established by the AIHA Real-Time Detection Systems Committee. This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduate student with a research focus in any area of real-time detection that is relevant to either industrial hygiene or safety.

Stephen C. Davis Future Leadership Institute Memorial Grant. As a visionary leader, mentor, and strong advocate of the industrial hygiene/occupational hygiene (IH/OH) profession globally, Stephen C. Davis recognized the importance of investing in the next generation of IH/OH professionals. The Stephen C. Davis Future Leadership Institute Memorial Grant was established to honor his legacy and provide opportunities for the future leadership of the profession.
