New Tip Sheet Provides At-a-glance Information on Hazardous Drugs in Health Care

Posted September 26, 2013

In support of its alliance with OSHA, AIHA® has developed a new “QuickTips” sheet to provide OHS professionals with information on hazardous drugs in the health care industry. All workers in areas where hazardous drugs are handled have the potential for exposure, including shipping/receiving staff, maintenance workers, and environmental services personnel. This tip sheet helps OHS professionals identify these hazards and lists steps they can take to protect workers. Download the QuickTips sheet as a PDF

In recent years, AIHA Volunteer Groups have developed several QuickTips sheets. Each tip sheet provides a brief description of a given occupational hazard, methods of control, and resources for additional information. All QuickTips sheets are available for download on AIHA’s website and are supported by the OSHA Alliance.

AIHA and OSHA renewed their alliance agreement on May 21, 2013. This extended relationship between AIHA and OSHA will encourage training, education, outreach, and communication and promote national dialogue on workplace safety and health. The agreement was originally signed on Oct. 2, 2002.
