‚ÄčNominations are now being accepted for the 2019 Safe-In-Sound Awards, which recognize excellent hearing loss prevention practices in the work environment. The awards are presented annually by NIOSH in partnership with the National Hearing Conservation Association. This year, the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation joined the partnership.

Safe-in-Sound applicants are evaluated against key performance indicators in a review process designed to evaluate hearing loss prevention programs in the workplace. A separate award for Innovation in Hearing Loss Prevention recognizes individuals, organizations, or business entities for innovative advances in the prevention of noise-induced hearing loss applicable to occupational exposures.

NIOSH, NHCA, and CAOHC are accepting both self-nominations and nominations of those who have demonstrated the benefits of developing or following good hearing loss prevention practices. To start the nomination process, interested individuals should send a letter of intent describing why they or the organization they are nominating deserves the award via email by June 15, 2018. Completed nominations are due by July 13, 2018.

Additional information is available on the Safe-in-Sound website.
