In response to challenges the retail industry has identified in implementing hazardous waste regulations, EPA requests comments on existing data on the retail sector and the amount of hazardous waste it generates, as well as suggestions for improving these regulations for retail operations. In a Notice of Data Availability (NODA) released last week, EPA also seeks information and hazardous waste data on retails stores’ programs for handling hazardous waste, hazardous waste training for employees, transportation, sustainability efforts undertaken by retail facilities, and more.
For more information, view the pre-publication version of the NODA. Once it is published in the Federal Register, stakeholders will have 60 days to submit comments.
