NIOSH Invites Participation in Disaster Science Research Initiative

Published March 19, 2014

NIOSH invites those interested in ensuring the health and safety of disaster responders to participate as partners in the NIOSH Disaster Science Research Initiative (DSRI), which was launched earlier this year. According to NIOSH, the DSRI is developing an approach to timely and scalable responder-based research that can be implemented before, during, and after large-scale disasters.

The DSRI is not the agency’s only initiative related to responder safety and health; the NIOSH Emergency Preparedness and Response Program also works to advance scientific research to protect responders.

Those interested in participating in the NIOSH DSRI should e-mail Margaret Kitt or Lisa Delaney.
