NIOSH Publishes 2012 List of Hazardous Drugs in Health Care Settings

Published July 5, 2012

Last week, NIOSH published the “NIOSH List of Antineoplastic and Other Hazardous Drugs in Healthcare Settings 2012,” a document that builds on a NIOSH alert from 2004 that warned health care employers and workers of the risks of working with hazardous drugs and also identified measures they could take to protect their health. The 2004 list of hazardous drugs was updated in 2010, and this most recent update adds 26 new drugs to the list. According to NIOSH, “these additions are new drugs or existing drugs that had new warnings from 2007 to 2009.”
