OSHA Requests Feedback on Draft Guidance Documents on Process Safety Management

Published September 7, 2016

Three draft documents from OSHA intended to provide guidelines for compliance with the agency’s process safety management (PSM) standard are available for public comment until Sept. 23. The documents, which are products of an executive order issued in August 2013 to improve chemical facility safety and security, were developed by a federal working group that includes OSHA and five other departments and agencies. The draft guidance documents include Process Safety Management Compliance Guidelines for Explosives and Pyrotechnics Manufacturing; Process Safety Management Guidelines for Compliance at Storage Facilities; and Process Safety Management Guidelines for Small Business Compliance. Each document is available as a PDF download from the OSHA docket on Regulations.gov.

More information about how to submit comments is also available via Regulations.gov.
