Webinar to Focus on Efforts to Align HazCom Regulations in U.S. and Canada

Published June 21, 2017

Government representatives from OSHA and Health Canada will host a webinar next Wednesday, June 28, to provide an update on the countries’ joint efforts to align hazard communication regulations for workplace chemicals in the U.S. and Canada. In 2016, OSHA and Health Canada published an updated work plan developed by the Regulatory Cooperation Council (RCC), the OSHA-Health Canada partnership established to align U.S. and Canadian regulatory approaches regarding labeling and classification requirements for hazardous workplace chemicals. The upcoming webinar will cover information on the current RCC work plan deliverables and planned guidance materials. Presenters will also address regulatory activities to align with the most recent version of the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and activities to improve and maintain alignment between the U.S. and Canada.

The webinar will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. ET. Visit OSHA’s website for more information about the webinar, including instructions on how to participate.

Health Canada is the Canadian federal department responsible for national public health. For more information, visit the department’s website.
