Workshop to Focus on Health Risks of Indoor Exposure to Particulate Matter

Published February 3, 2016

The Institute of Medicine and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will convene a public workshop later this month to discuss the state of the science on the health effects of indoor exposure to particulate matter. The workshop, which is scheduled for Feb. 10–11, in Washington, D.C., will feature sessions (PDF) on sources of indoor particulate matter, particulate dynamics and chemistry, exposure levels and characterization, exposure mitigation, and identified and emerging health concerns. According to the workshop Web page, the meeting will also include presentations and discussions on exposure modifiers, vulnerable populations, exposure assessment, risk management, and gaps in the science.

Interested individuals may register to attend in person or via webcast. For more information, see the workshop registration page.
