New Year, New-look Synergist

AIHA® ushered in 2014, the association's 75th anniversary year, with a brand-new design for The Synergist®. The Synergist team is excited to share the January 2014 cover image below.

Along with the new design, The Synergist will broaden its coverage of the industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety fields with three new features in 2014:

  • AIHA Government Affairs Director Aaron Trippler will author a new column that focuses on the regulatory developments in state legislatures. With the U.S. federal government gridlocked, the state legislatures are where most new regulations that affect Synergist readers are developed and debated. Trippler's new column will appear regularly in 2014.
  • Thea Dunmire, JD, CIH, CSP, will contribute to The Synergist on the topic of management. Dunmire has served as chair of the ANSI Z1 management system auditing subcommittee and has represented AIHA on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to Technical Committee 207. The first installment of this new column is planned for the April issue.
  • To help celebrate AIHA's 75th anniversary in 2014, a new column will address important developments in the history of industrial hygiene from the perspective of professionals who lived through them.

The need for increased coverage of state regulations and management issues were two key results from the 2013 Synergist reader survey. As always, The Synergist staff welcomes feedback and suggestions from readers. Please send correspondence to synergist@aiha.org.
