NIOSH Webinar to Focus on Safe Return to Work During COVID-19

An upcoming webinar hosted by the NIOSH Total Worker Health Program will focus on strategies and recommendations for safely returning to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Presenters will cover topics such as CDC and NIOSH guidance for workplaces responding to COVID-19; the employer checklist from CDC’s “Resuming Business Toolkit,” which was published in late May; and strategies for slowing the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in the manufacturing work environment. The webinar will also include information about Total Worker Health strategies. NIOSH’s Total Worker Health initiative involves policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with promotion of injury and illness prevention efforts to advance worker well-being.

The webinar will be held on Thursday, June 25, from 12 to 1 p.m. ET. Scheduled presenters include Kevin H. Dunn, a mechanical engineer and CIH who is leading the COVID-19 reopening technical assistance team for NIOSH; Todd Niemeier, MS, CIH, the 2015 recipient of ACGIH’s John J. Bloomfield Award; and L. Casey Chosewood, MD, MPH, director of NIOSH’s Office for Total Worker Health.
