The AIHA Fellows SIG is proud to host this program that features prominent experts in industrial hygiene who are prepared to lecture on recent research and new developments and topics of interest that affect workplace safety and the environment. The Distinguished Lecturers are drawn from the AIHA membership, they and their lectures have been reviewed thoroughly by a DL Review Team as to their quality and timeliness.
The Distinguished Lecturer (DL) list identifies experts within AIHA who are capable and willing to provide lectures in their area of expertise to the industrial hygiene community and to our outreach partners. Our program features renowned thought leaders in academia, industry, and government, speaking about the most important topics in industrial hygiene. This program enables you to connect and learn from experts in the field of industrial hygiene and to schedule a presentation at your local, regional, or international meetings. Our AIHA Distinguished Lecturers will be ready to deliver compelling and insightful content to your audience.
The DL program is a modification and expansion of AIHA’s former “Speakers Bureau.” Individuals interested in becoming a Distinguished Lecturer (DL) must be an AIHA Member. If you are interested in applying to become a DL, please submit an application using the link below. Please note that all DLs must reapply every two years to help the AIHA ensure the timeliness and quality of presentations and content. DL applications are accepted on a semi-annual basis every January 31 and July 31. All submissions are evaluated by the Fellows SIG Review committee, and notification of the review committee’s decision on applications received by the semi-annual deadline will be sent out in March and September.

It is a pleasure for the Fellows SIG to continue supporting the AIHA’s Distinguished Lecturer (DL) program.
AIHA is always seeking applications for new DLs in important and emerging topic areas, so if there is a topic
that you have expertise in and a presentation you’ve already developed that could be presented to local sections
or other groups upon request, please think about making a DL submission.
Important Update: Enhanced Process for Distinguished Lecturer Support
Dear Distinguished Lecturers,
We’re excited to announce an improved process to streamline how those with existing approved Distinguished Lecturer topics can request assistance for editing, removing or adding additional topics or updating your bio, resume, or photo.
New Process for Topic and Edit Requests:
To ensure we efficiently address your needs and provide you with the best support possible, please follow these updated steps when you need to:
- Submit a Request: Reach out directly to Joseph Hill (Member Networks Coordinator & Staff Liaison) [email protected]. Please include a summary description of the additional topics or edits you wish to make, as well as including any updated text or presentations. Please use the DL submission form for guidance. - For minor changes, such as updating contact information, minor edits to the lecture description or material, and to remove an approved lecture: The AIHA staff will process your request.
- For significant edits to a lecture or its description, or to propose a new topic, AIHA staff will forward your request to the AIHA Fellows SIG Distinguished Lecturer subcommittee for review.
- Review and Confirmation: Once the AIHA Fellows SIG Distinguished Lecturer subcommittee receives your request, they will review it and get back to you with confirmation and any further questions within a suitable time.
- Implementation: Upon confirmation, we will proceed with the necessary updates and provide you with a status update as to when your topics/edits have been imported.
This new process is designed to enhance our communication and ensure that all modifications are overseen efficiently. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to continuing our collaboration to deliver exceptional content.
