How to Read Different State Bills

Presented by Riley G. Cagle
AIHA Advocacy Associate

More than 100,000 bills are introduced in the United States Congress and State legislatures every year. States legislatures, in particular, move at a blistering pace, as most are in session for only a few months each year. Every legislature writes and proposes changes to their bills differently, creating a complex code that can be difficult to interpret. If you’re not sure what’s being proposed, you could miss a golden opportunity or, worse, miss a significant threat.

This conversational presentation will walk you through how to read and make sense of any bill that’s introduced in a State legislature or the U.S. Congress so that you’re never left confused again and are ready to take action on the issues most important to you as we continue our collective journey of protecting workers and their communities from occupational and environmental health and safety hazards.
