AIHA Member Jon Wilkinson Appointed to Vermont School Construction Aid Task Force
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (July 20, 2023)—AIHA, the leading association for scientists and professionals dedicated to preserving and ensuring occupational and environmental health and safety in the workplace and community, welcomes the appointment of Jon Wilkinson to the newly created School Construction Aid Task Force by Governor Phil Scott of Vermont. The School Construction Aid Task Force was established this year to examine, evaluate, and report on critical issues related to school construction in Vermont.
Wilkinson brings more than three decades of experience in air quality and ventilation in the private sector to his role on the School Construction Aid Task Force. As the industrial hygiene program manager for the University of Vermont (UVM) Medical Center, Wilkinson has successfully overseen safety and operational programs while demonstrating a keen focus on health and safety standards. In this capacity, he has played an instrumental role in UVM Medical Center’s asbestos abatement program, contributed to emergency preparedness efforts, and provided crucial guidance and training for decontamination and waste management. Wilkinson has also led air quality investigations aimed at ensuring a safe environment for staff and patients.
A dedicated AIHA member since 2004, Wilkinson has not confined his commitment to occupational and environmental health to his professional endeavors. He contributes to his local community's health and well-being as a medical reserve corps volunteer for Chittenden County under the Vermont Department of Health. Additionally, he is a member of the Vermont Healthcare Engineers Society, through which he collaborates with his peers to advance excellence in healthcare engineering.
