American Industrial Hygiene Foundation Announces 37th Annual Fun Run
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (April 27, 2023)—The American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF) will host its 37th annual Fun Run in Phoenix on May 23, 2023, beginning at 6 a.m. Pacific time. The AIHF Fun Run raises scholarship funds for students and young professionals in the occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) field and is one of the events scheduled for AIHce EXP 2023, the annual conference hosted by AIHA. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation options. In-person participants will depart from the Phoenix Convention Center in busses leaving at 5:30.
Fun Run participants have a choice between three fundraising activities: running, walking, or “sleeping in.” Runners and walkers will pay $50 when they register for AIHce EXP 2023 or $55 at the on-site event and will complete either a 5-kilometer run or 2.5-kilometer walk. Participants who choose to “sleep in” will donate $55 with their standard conference registration or $65 on site but will not participate in the athletic events. The AIHF Fun Run also offers a "family registration” for up to four runners with a maximum donation amount of $170, based on the number of participants.
Virtual participants can join the Fun Run by running or walking equivalent 5 or 2.5-kilometer courses anywhere in the world and tracking their progress on social media using the hashtag #AIHFFunRun.
Fun Run winners will receive prizes. All proceeds will support the AIHF's mission to advance the OEHS profession by funding education and professional development in OEHS and related disciplines.
“We're excited to bring the AIHF Fun Run to Phoenix and offer a virtual option for those who can't be with us in person,” said Thursa Pecoraro, AIHF manager. “This event is a great opportunity to support a worthy cause and connect with other members of the AIHce EXP community.”
The AIHF Fun Run is made possible through the support of its sponsors:
- Amazon, premier sponsor
- Epicore Biosystems Inc., presenting sponsor
- SevenGen, silver sponsor
- Board for Global EHS Credentialing and Half Draft Acres, bronze sponsors
“We're incredibly grateful to our sponsors for their support of the AIHF Fun Run and our mission of advancing the OEHS profession,” said Pecoraro. “Their generosity allows us to continue providing educational opportunities for students in the field.”
