MEDIA ALERT: AIHA to Cosponsor 2024 Prevention Through Design Award
What: AIHA will cosponsor the 2024 Prevention through Design (PtD) Award in partnership with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and the National Safety Council (NSC). The annual PtD Award recognizes individuals, teams, businesses, and other organizations that have eliminated or reduced hazards through design or redesign efforts or contributed to knowledge that enables PtD solutions. The association’s sponsorship was announced during the award ceremony of the National Safety Council’s 2023 Congress and Expo, held Oct. 24 in New Orleans.
Why: Sponsorship of the PtD award aligns with AIHA’s mission of empowering and advancing people and groups who apply scientific knowledge to protect all workers and their communities from occupational and environmental hazards.
“This collaboration marks an important milestone in our shared commitment to advancing the principles of prevention through design and ensuring the safety and well-being of workers across various industries,” said AIHA President Dina Siegel CIH, CSP, CBSP, FAIHA. “We look forward to a future of shared knowledge, experience, and dedication to PtD, all aimed at making workplaces safer for everyone.”
