This NEW white paper delves into the critical concept of Prevention Through Design (PtD), emphasizing its integration within the AIHA ARECC Competency Framework. It explores how organizations can effectively weave PtD principles into their Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) risk management strategies and overall design processes. Central to this initiative are two foundational pillars: Risk Assessment and Hierarchy of Risk Treatment (HoRT), which provide a robust framework for identifying and mitigating risks before they manifest. By adopting a proactive approach through PtD, organizations can not only safeguard employee health and well-being but also streamline compliance with industry regulations, ultimately fostering a safer and more sustainable workplace.
