About Gary S. Kephart

Gary S. Kephart, CIH, CHP, CSP, CHMM, RRPT, had more than 35 years’ experience in environmental, health, and safety and radiation protection involving the operation, maintenance, and demolition of radiological and nuclear facilities. He began his career in the nuclear industry with a unique combination of hands-on involvement, professional credentials, and team-building success.

Gary enjoyed helping many organizations on both the national and local levels. He was known for continually encouraging people to pursue further educational opportunities and professional certifications.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

In awarding the Gary S. Kephart Memorial Scholarship, students should be a full-time student with a GPA of at least 3.0 who is seeking a degree in either emergency management and response, health physics, industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety management, or other related program.

Preference is given to a student attending a college or university in Tennessee, Kentucky, Northern Alabama, Western North Carolina, or Southwestern Virginia.
