OSHA Urges Businesses, Organizations to Participate in Safe + Sound Week
Safe + Sound Week, an annual event intended to raise awareness of occupational safety and health, will be held across the United States next month during the week of Aug. 12–18. This year, Safe + Sound Week will focus on the importance of workplace safety and health programs. According to OSHA, safety and health programs can help employers prevent injuries and illnesses, reduce workers’ compensation costs, engage workers, and increase productivity. AIHA is an organizing partner in Safe + Sound Week.
OSHA urges organizations of all sizes and in any industry to show their commitment to safety by participating in Safe + Sound Week. Information about how to participate is available on the agency’s website. Organizations that participate in the event will be able to download a certificate and a “virtual challenge coin” to recognize their efforts. Companies that are holding events for Safe + Sound Week are listed on the OSHA website.
Additional resources such as brochures, recorded webinars, and recommended practices for safety and health programs are also collected on OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week page.
