On Demand Pioneers in Quality Webinar: New and Revised Workplace Violence Prevention Standards for Joint Commission Behavioral Health Care Facilities

Effective July 1, 2024, three new and one revised workplace violence prevention requirements will apply to all Joint Commission–accredited behavioral health care and human services (BHC) organizations. The new and revised requirements are a framework to guide organizations in developing effective workplace violence prevention strategies.

This On Demand webinar will present an overview of the requirements, which address the following: Defining workplace violence, including a formal definition added to the Glossary; Outlining leadership oversight; Developing worksite analysis processes; Developing policies and procedures for the prevention of workplace violence; Reporting systems, data collection, and analysis; Implementing post-incident strategies; and Providing training and education to decrease workplace violence. The webinar will also offer examples for how the requirements apply, and highlight a new online Workforce Safety and Well-Being Resource Center.
