Contest: So You Think You Can Communicate?

In 2024 several members of the AIHA community developed videos highlighting effective communication strategies in the OEHS profession. Now, AIHA is launching the “So you think you can communicate?” contest led by the Enhancing OEHS Communication Stills Team volunteers.

Contest Details:

  • Participants have until July 24, 2025, to submit a short (2-3 minute), self-recorded video highlighting their own story of successful OEHS communication for a chance to win a $250 gift card.
  • Simply record yourself and upload the video to wetransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) or your favorite file sharing service. Send the link via email to [email protected].
  • Coming to AIHA Connect in Kansas City? Visit the AIHA Booth between 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21 to be easily recorded in-person.
  • Submitted videos will be reviewed by the Enhancing OEHS Communication Skills Team volunteers for two winners based on the effectiveness of their messaging and clarity of video.
  • All videos meeting video, audio, and subject matter criteria will be hosted on a public aiha.org page. Criteria include non-intrusive background, visibility of the participant, clear audio, communicating OEHS subject matter, no prominent logos or brand names other than AIHA.
  • Suggested topics include improving basic communication, overcoming communication challenges, improving public awareness of OEHS, best practices for email, communication under pressure, advocating for OEHS within large workforces, crisis communication, securing engagement from stakeholders, simplifying complex information, and communicating in corporate environments.
  • Participants may not use the names of other individuals or companies in their videos unless given express permission.
  • AIHA employees may not participate.
