Companies have historically made decisions using primarily financial and compliance information. That is changing as the number and complexity of risks grow, along with stakeholder expectations for transparency and broader reporting on risk, impact, and long-term value.

This 1-day virtual course provides OEHS, EHSS, and risk management professionals with a practical, risk-based methodology for integrated decision-making — helping organizations move from a compliance orientation to one that informs strategy, capital allocation, and enterprise risk management. The course introduces advances in finance and accounting, including impact accounting and the use of impact-dependency pathways (IDPs), as a foundation for assessing materiality, impact, risk, and value.

Participants will be introduced to tools that support:

  • Engagement in evolving decision-making and reporting frameworks.
  • Upgrading programs, systems, and measurement practices.
  • Increasing impact — personally, within their organizations, and within their communities.

Total Worker Health® (TWH) and core professional frameworks such as ISO 45001 and GRI 403 are used in practical IDP exercises. The four-pillar structure used in financial disclosure frameworks — governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics & targets — is used to demonstrate how OEHS and TWH initiatives can be organized and integrated into enterprise decision-making.
