In today’s economic climate, as an occupational health and safety professional, you are likely to be involved in a merger or acquisition. The first 100 days after an acquisition is a period when an organization experiences its greatest propensity for change. This presentation will engage participants as we explore and prioritize guiding principles for post-acquisition support. A large focus of the program will be to utilize case-studies to highlight best practices to design and develop a post-integration road map that defines timelines and prioritizes tasks. As a complement to this presentation, examples of successes and challenges associated with integrating safety culture will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

  • Outline the guiding principles for post-acquisition support including post-merger integration best practices,
  • List frequently encountered challenges
  • Describe strategies for overcoming barriers to change.
