A 25-member delegation from China’s State Administration of Work Safety
(SAWS) visited the AIHA office in Falls Church, Va., on Aug. 31 to learn
about the association’s latest initiatives, upcoming educational
events, and other aspects of AIHA’s program of work.
In Memoriam: Ernest Mastromatteo
Dr. Ernest Mastromatteo, an honorary member of AIHA, passed away on July 13, 2016, at the age of 92. Mastromatteo was instrumental in the 1964 formation of the Southern Ontario Section of AIHA, which later became the Occupational Hygiene Association of Ontario.
JOEH Seeks New Column Editors
The Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (JOEH) seeks new column editors to review column submissions for publication in the journal. JOEH column topics include case studies, engineering case reports, analytical performance issues, OSHA compliance issues, and ergonomics.
Labor, Industry Get Behind Proposed Beryllium PEL
Comments on OSHA’s proposed rule for beryllium indicate wide support for lowering the agency’s Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) from the current 2 µg/m3 to 0.2 µg/m3, according to a representative from OSHA’s directorate of enforcement.
